the good news: more action, but even bigger this time. fun game mechanics (plus use/abuse of them). less of the problematic stuff from the previous book.

the bad news: the train-based setting has so much potential but it’s just too complicated. carl getting annoyingly bossy. i listened to the audiobook and i hate the voice he does for katia.

and this might just be me, but i don’t love the hints that the scale will get bigger and bigger until we’re dealing with galactic-level conflicts.
