Ancillary Mercy (Imperial Radch #3)

The first book was really good, the second was fine, and this one is mostly forgettable. The characters started blending together for me because I just don’t care much about them. The ending is disappointing. The moralising isn’t very interesting. The main character is bland (always polite and right).

My favorite part was how weird the alien Presger are — there’s some over-the-top goofiness (fish sauce) but then occassional brilliant flashes that demonstrate that their world is entirely different from our own.
